I just cast Feather Fall and jump past all of the poison. I didn’t find it to take too long at all.

Did the fight trigger without you having to use an area effect spell to start it? It didn't for me.

After the latest update I was able to fight Ethel properly.

Nah, but I one-shotted her casting a Force Push with Gale on the spot where she's hidden.

Amusing, but I have no idea if I lost some valuable loot there.

Actually, she had a profound amount of loot for me. Because she was still a VENDOR. So when she died she dropped her entire merchant inventory, including all the stuff I HAD SOLD HER.
