It IS fixed in 1.34 because I've never had any other version and it doesn't break the quest. I'm 100% sure.
I am annoyed that there's no dawn / dusk in 1.34 though, because it would add a lot of atmosphere to the game. I hope they are still supporting this game and working on a new patch.
