I see less of it in BG3, mostly because you can engage from different angles.
What I have noticed though, is that I often start combat either really far away, or in very clumped together situations.
Take the fight at the gate. You have the potential to start in such a way that you have to dash at least once, if not twice, for your melee characters to get into position.
Or at the "fight on two rooftops" in Blighted Village, here too the melee characters are stuck running 90% of the fight, unless you know what you are doing.
But it's a bit difficult to really balance what's a good starting position, since we can position ourselves quite a bit.
