I was wondering if anyone else could not "clear" the land and the lakes in the Dark Forest and Wastelands. Is there anyway to do this? I found this part of DD very disappointing. One of the reasons I like RPG's of this type is the ability to uncover areas to see what's next. In other words like the Rivertown map... you can uncover every single spot of black (except for a couple of spots). Is it possible to do this re: DF and WL? If not, this and the incredibly boring ending are the only two major complaints I have about DD.

Yes, and no. There are some parts of the Dark Forest and the Wastelands that you cannot get to without using the teleporter stone trick (throw one as far as you can into another side, etc. save before you try this though!). But if you invest a lot of points in Elven Sight and Ranger Sight (both maxed), you can uncover a really large area. I've seen totally uncovered Elven Dark Forest with a strange house across the river, but supposedly you can't get across the river unless your character walks in the black area (edge of the screen)...
