Good points.

In my attempt to play evil (I am too good, it is hard), my Drow lady often went for logical decisions that benefit her and her Drow culture... so siding with servants of the Absolute was just not an option (killing the other Drow felt like mercy in the eyes of my not-so-evil Lolth-sworn Drow).

Siding with Halsin seemed all-around more beneficial than the petty shadow Druid who fears goblinoids and who preyed on a kid and can't control her own pet or even cure the poison from her own pet snake. Keeping in mind I see the Absolute bunch as enemies, so go Halsin (seeing him as a bear riping goblins, I had no regrets! and much more charismatic too).

I will have to play an insane Absolute tool though for fun, but the majority of evil characters would never choose to become subservient pawns of the Absolute while it is blatantly clear it is a Mind Flayer plot (the hints and info on this being numerous; well, it is downright obvious).
