Right now I'm level 17 and trying to poison the well in the Orc Camp, and I'm having a hard time killing anything there. Here's my stats.
Base str 58 agi 32 int 9 (how did this drop below 10?) con 28 vit 168 mag 27
Equips str 78 agi 32 int 13 con 39 vit 311 mag 154
Skills Sword Expertise *** Shield Expertise ** Augment Damage *** Fire Damage *** Stun *** Augment Defense ** Enchat Weapon ** Spiritual Damage * Restoration ** Bless * Know Creature * Survivors Instince *
Gear-wise I haven't had much luck (and please don't tell me to save and reload when opening chests, I don't eat that type of cheese ). I'm using a [nocando] Sword with 4 Life Drain that I bought from some merchant, other then that my armor isn't anything to write home about.

What are your res?? One lifesaver tip: Get freeze Or use poison bottels orcs hate that.
'Why drop below 10' Have you met with a vampire yet?? Like the one in the dark cave? Well he drains your life and 3 random stat points. Maybe 1 of it was int.

I don't think so. You will have plenty of time to ballance your character. You can do that with charms also.
I'd suggest you to stop putting points into vitality. Put more in strength and do not ignore agility. It is important to be able to hit and evade. And I'd suggest not to put points into fire or whatever damage, bacause it is too low. Spiritual damage is another story it is good.
If you have difficulties now, and I had im my game in orc camp also, go in another region after easier mobs and come back when you are stronger.
And I loved freeze spell - makes life much easier, or you can find +freeze sword.
Hope this helps.
You could visit Kistandopolus and that chinese guy in Ars more often as they sometimes sell books.

hehe, Opps! I meant to add my res's also. Lighting 19 Fire 20 Poison 13 Spirit 0 One lifesaver tip: Get freeze Or use poison bottels orcs hate that. I did see a freeze weapon in a shop, but I couldn't afford it. And of course now that I can it's gone. I'll try that poison thing and see how it works; will I need to invest a skill point to use the bottles? 'Why drop below 10' Have you met with a vampire yet?? Like the one in the dark cave? Well he drains your life and 3 random stat points. Maybe 1 of it was int. umm.. yeah, I did allow the Vampire in the Dark Cave to suck my blood. heh, If I would have known that he'd drain 3 random stats I would have never let him and allowed that kid to be killed.

I've poisoned Orcs well when i was lvl5 warrior but I was fast running no fighter. When I came back there and make massacre in orc camp I was lvl 25. You didnt't screw Your warrior,You are just to week. There are two ways: 1.Run away and come back again when You're few lvls up 2.Kill those orc with tactic, kill 2 or 3 and run, then come back an kill another.
I suggest returningwhen You are few lvls up and than kill'em all. My belowed skill is burning wall and thanks to it I've came through Orcs camp like tornado. Have fun
Make me mad and for sure You're dead

Ok thanks for the advise. I guess I'll have to come back once I get some levels.
hehe, I'm trying to fight the itch to start over as a Wizard. In everyother game I play I always play as a Wizard, so it's weird for me to mow everything down with a sword.

As a warrior, you must be able to hit things, and in Divine Divinity your offense and defense are determined by your Agility, not your Strength. So, if you concentrate for your next few levels on putting all of your stats into agility, you should notice a marked improvement in your frequency of hitting monsters. Try to find some items that add to agility as well, and don't forget about charms (Kistindalis sells them at Ars Magicana). I usually bring my agility up to higher than my strength score, but that's a personal preference.

ALWAYS have your agility high. You will hit more and not get hit. I even raise agility far above strength. I usually improve my strength with charms+items anyway. Agility is the key stat in this game, even for a mage....

I powerplay mostly. Much to the disgust of the traditional 'dice-rollers'

errr...you did screw up the spelling of warrior.
seriously, the orc camp is one of the most difficult areas in the game for a melee char. there are a lot of big brawlers in that area. what i did with my sword warrior who was also having a hard time there was to constantly shop for a good sword in that blacksmith near ars magicana (geoff?) until i found a good [nocando] sword. when he went back to the orc camp, most died in 1 hit except those chiefs. that's where freeze came in handy.
another char of mine, a female warrior whom i turned into an archer when she found a fierce long bow, had a very easy time in the orc camp. she created havoc & destruction with splitting arrows, poisoned arrows & freeze. what i did was whenever i saw clusters of red dots in my mini-map, i fired volleys upon volleys of splitting arrows in that direction. splitting arrows iirc has a low mana cost. elven sight also helped a lot. i had mine at 2 then (lvl 3 now. the monsters won't know what hit them. i cleared the orc camp all the way until the fringes of the dwarven village. by the time it was all over, not a single orc was left standing, and i went up from lvl 16 to about 20. i simply then walked casually to poison the orc water supply. she's lvl 28 now & rising fast. i had a much easier time with my archer than with my warrior.

for the orc camp, I waited until I was level 25 to set foot in there, then with 20 regualr mana potions, and 25 vitality regular potions, a knigths sword with 79 vitality and 1 agility, went in there, 1 hour later, no one is left alive. Just cast spells like elementil hail, adn the orc roast! Or attack them one after another with ur sw\ord, (opr be cheaP AND RELEASE UR DEATH SCORPIONS)
