I wish 5e was a bit more generous with the feats. That would be a house rule I could get behind.

Say I'm playing a Wizard, I feel like I'm always better off using the first two increases for Intelligence to get it to 20 because Int affects so many things. So I won't be able to get a feat until 12, and probably then I'm still tempted to raise two odd ability scores. Raising ability scores in itself is cool character development too.

So while feats would be really cool to customize and specialize a character, it feels like you can't afford to pick them.

Some feat picks in addition to the ASI's would be nice. Let's say character levels 1, 3, 6, 9...
