Yes, these are definitely thoughts in the right direction. Let's make the game realistic! Let different races speak different languages. Why are they all English speaking? You need 10 different languages. For Gityanki, Tiefling, Drow, and so that we cannot understand them without the skill of knowing the language or a special translator who needs to be paid in gold. Is this what we need from the game?

Thanks to Larian for Baldurs Gate 3 and the reaction to player feedback

Define "true" french accent, cause the Quebecers can get pretty testy about who's the superior french towards France.

Even in France, the accents vary. UK-schooled French is typically unlike the French spoken by French natives. Parisians and Bretons sound distinct from each other.

Most countries are the same; although globalisation has blurred the edges, very few countries have the same accent nationwide.

Even small countries tend to have different regional dialects that sound completely different from people in a different part of the same country.

Larian is a european company. If you need english voice acting, the closest source is actually england.

So Dulany, if that is the true reason, why do you feel that the english voice actors are incapable of doing different accents?

And before you answer, please explain how the voice of Astarion (the most british voice to exist ever), was hired and paid money to do a Russian accent for a Resident Evil game.

Let's be honest here, they wanted a "low class" accent for the goblins and cockney fits the bill. It's not very nice to say that, but there you go. It provides a recognizable lower class accent without using african american slang (or southern US) that would be jarring in the setting and offensive to much of the audience.

I mean if they wanted low class shouldn't they go Irish or Newfie then? I JOKE.
