Where is the key to the quarantined area in Rivertown?

I simply just sneaked up to the door and, pick locked it. Mua hah hah. The plague has begun to spread again!

Yes there is. Lain has it. But you have to be a member of the thiefsguild to get it.

The house leading to that area is locked for sure. So is the gate that leads there. There is nothing really interesting in that area. All the fun you can possibly have there is ending the pain of the diseased.

The key you can get before you enter the thieves' guild. Just talk to Lain and be clever with him. You cannot pick this door. Also, if you choose to heal the plague victims, you will gain a lot of experience. You won't be able to find the cure until you complete the Poisoned Harvest / Gold Key / Doctor quest, and those quests will be a long time down the road. If you want spoilers for those quests, I believe there are many threads on this forum that cover them in detail.
