I finally got the All Quests Completion speedrun down to sub 3 hours!
I think it can be improved in some areas for sure. Hope to see better times soon.

I'll definitely have to come up with more fun ways to play. I'm running out of Baldur's Gate 3 stuff to do!

I made a challenge thread here if you are looking for ideas, where i came up with some stupid ways to play/break the game: https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=731765#Post731765

Nicely done. Little curious if you have any firm rules on what constitutes 'quest completion' in the somewhat murky world of Early Access? Obviously the quickest way to mark The Githyanki Warrior complete is to just shove Lae'zel off the Nautiloid, and I think killing her might be the only route that actually gets the thing checked off the journal -- but that basically amounts to skipping the quest.

Two ways to avoid the Githyanki fight while keeping in spirit with finishing the quest:

* Under the right circumstances, if you're a Githyanki or disguised as one you only need to pass one Deception check to get them all to leave. But note you don't find the creche's location if you don't first...
* You can sneak up on the gith and pickpocket one of them for the creche's location. Depending on your criteria for finishing the quest, you could just do that and leave.

Both are a little luck dependent, although I imagine they'd be quicker than doing the fight unless you were really unlucky with ability checks.

^^ interesting points. If the criteria is just "ticked off in journal" then any method of doing that is legit. A lot of speedruns rely on quit-reload mechanisms to save time so a few key skill checks could then scummed to save time.

It's complicated by 1) there being quests that, right now, don't ever mark as Complete, and 2) that quests don't really draw a distinction between being 'completed' and being 'failed' like in some games. Take the "Free the artist" mission: if you do it properly, the journal will tell you that hey, good job, can't wait to continue this quest in Act 2.

In cases like those, I'd be inclined to consider completing the quest to be reaching that final journal update. But if you just say, hey, we're gonna mark all quests Complete -- well, you're not really wrong in just starting up quests then murderhobo-ing an important NPC as soon as you can. "I did it," you say, standing over a fresh goblin corpse, "I saved Sazza. I am a hero."

A bit of common sense can mostly get you through that. There are some edge cases I guess I could raise: do you have to give Gale two magic items, or can you just ignore that? It's not really a quest you can complete or come to much resolution on (Gale will always want more), but still, that'll update the journal in the same way as going through Lae'zel's stuff.

Not to bombard the posted speedrun with quibbles, mind. Just, you know, if anyone does want to really optimise the time further it'll be good to be on the same page.

That's a great idea. I currently do the fight but I can definitely see that being faster. Still an improvement process.

To the point, it's just that the quest must be completed and in your logbook.
For example, Save Sazza I have to save her to trigger the entry in my journal but then I immediately kill her to complete it.

Also, some quests don't ever really "Complete" so I just get as far as I can. Things like Steal The Sacred Idol, Free the Artist, Find the Creche, and Travel to Moonrise Towers are all continued in Act 2 so they stay 'open' even after you've done everything there is to do.
