I'm in the Underdark and have found Selune's Temple, but there's a seemingly impassable fire trap killing me whenever I approach the gates. Is there any way in from this side?

I think you can approach from the place where petrified Drow people are. Or turn combat mode and misty step/jump. Not sure if moonpuzzle passage can be open from the outside but you can disarm the trap for the future and unlock fast travel point.

There's a lever on top of the gate next to the skeleton I believe with the journal next to it. You'll have to search the area as there's two levers.

I remember the fire trap. I managed to enter the temple in turn based mode. Can't remember if we picked the lock or just destroyed the fire head gargoyles, but I got all the way to the stair at the top (right before you would have come across the moon puzzle). And I couldn't find a way to open the moon puzzle door from that side, which would make sense since the story says they were sealing the door to prevent whatever killed the people down below from coming up.

Alternative is shooting in gem (statue). I have missed lever somehow, blind idiot for once, but warlock's blast worked very well. Can't pick up gem anyway, some people build chest ladder and failed.

I've never noticed that nor even thought to try! Neat. I love when there's multiple ways to do something. XD

You can just shoot the gargoyle heads to stop them

Entering turn mode, sending in Lae'zel and then shooting the gem worked fine. Thanks. Of course you can't get into the puzzle room that way so it was all a bit moot. Makes sense from the story of the priests, but was a bit frustrating after having gone through several deaths before then.
