i will totes agree, especially as someone who has worked as a human rights advocate, that modern culture is a shit show to work with.
you can't be to far in any direction without irritating some community, who then will chaos bolt you for the issue they see.
however to stay so neutral, your end result is stale and bland.
I am fully in support of rpgs and fantasy worlds for this reason... its fantasy, and nothing is without dark sides.
especially something like WoD games, its a dark world, it should be. its fallen so to speak
naturally people will righteous/self righteous values and in between would be upset by it. so i think its important to let these games and genres continue as intended. and keep our views of a perfect society aside, given the setting, and given that we have no real right to assume any of us as humans have any clue how things truly should be.
i equally agree that causing harm to anyone in real life, is very different than fantasy games where these events occur.
The hardest part of watching the culture shift over the last decade is the growing inability due to publicity to differentiate between fantasy and reality.
--edit--
of course online games where in a fantasy setting some choose to cause real world harm is a seperate scenario, and im not a fan of the hostility growing in nerd culture as it becomes less of an outcast market and more mainstream
