Yeah I'd also just expect that it's buggy. I did resurrect him, and I did get the scene where he explained his past with the god and his need for magic items, but this was quite late and I never actually had him ask me for a magic item, which from what I gather is sort of in the reverse order. I chalked it up to the fact that I only camped about 3 times until the celebration, so maybe 4 total?
