Now that I have about 8 hours in the current EA version of the game, I figured it would be a good time to provide constructive criticism based on what I've jotted down so far during my playthrough. A bunch of other people will most likely have mentioned these points, but that's alright, repeating them lets Larian know which issues are affecting a large percentage of the playerbase. Here goes:
- There are no mohawks! In every RPG that allows character customization, I always try to give my PC a mohawk, and the game usually indulges me. Not here. I want the appearance option of having some sort of mohawk. I'd settle for a flaccid one at this point.
Relatedly, it feels like we could have a few more face customization options instead of just the 4-5 preset faces we have now.
- When you come across
Shadowheart for the first time in the burning ship, it's not very clear that she can't be saved at that point in the game. I've heard of players spending up to half an hour or more trying to find a way. The game needs to make it more explicit that it's time to move on, once you've exhausted all possible dialogue options.
- I know Astarion is 'special', but just how is he holding his dagger here:

- The inventory system definitely needs some work. For example, unless I missed it, you can't drag multiple items from one character to another at once (using ctrl or shift).
- The dice rolls during combat are too opaque, I want to be able to know exactly how everything was calculated every time. The Pillars of Eternity series does this really well, honestly, just copy their system and I'd be happy.
- I would like another, more general highlight button, or the option to customize what is highlighted when you press alt. It's frustrating having to hover over every single container to see if it is interactable or not.
- The harpy quest is bugged for me. The game says I saved the child when I have done no such thing:

I actually got halfway down the path to the beach, then turned around when I realized I couldn't beat the harpies yet, but when I made it some way outside of the druid grove the game updated the quest as seen above. Very likely a trigger problem.
- The 'Medium' relationship that you can have with party members is described in a very vague manner. The specific party member's potential reactions are literally stated as 'variable'. I assume you get Medium relationship when you've had a fair number of interactions with them, but not with a consistent result in terms of approval - which is indeed different from Neutral where you just don't know each other. Either way, I think the description should be rewritten to make it clearer where you stand with them.
- As far as I can tell, there's no way to add custom markers yet, despite the loading screen stating otherwise.
- My PC is perhaps a little too flexible at the start of this cutscene:

And this screenshot is actually after his body parts had already started moving in a more normal position.
- The rest has been relatively minor, but this is actually a game-breaking bug in the current version, and keeping me from continuing because it's too much to bother with: dice rolls sometimes get stuck, but apparently only if you had a non-PC party member selected at the start of the dialogue:

Nothing happens no matter what I click. I see that the last patch was in late October, I'm disappointed that there hasn't been a hotfix for this yet. It is a major bug when it occurs, forcing you to restart completely.
I've only bothered mentioning the parts that I think need work, but BG3 is looking good so far. Particularly, I'm impressed with the character models and animations, they are really top-notch for an Early Access game that isn't even graphics-heavy. It's also almost ridiculous just how hot everyone is. Just compare the quality in this regard to the released version of Mass Effect: Andromeda...
