I was so excited for this game, but I feel its just DOS2.5 with some D&D skin swaps. I am disappointed we arent hearing anything about character import/export from one game to another. I hated the forced companion designating in the DOS games. I hate the thought of having to only use my character in one game. It sucks. Here is hoping modders figure that part out as the game I have been looking forward to this for like 17 years (since the original 2 BG games). The combat is fun except for DOS-centric barrell-mancey and the ground effects from............every...............single............battle. Its fun to a point but im just so blah about the character import function not being confirmed. I hate the whole "you got something terminal in you and have to spend the entire adventure getting rid of it/succumbing to it". Cant we just be adventures going on an adventure like every single D&D campaign? Hoard of the Dragon Queen, Curse of Strahd, Storm Kings Thunder, etc etc etc could have all been used as a template or even as the campaign itself. But whatever, lets make it where we are the "chosen" person in this world, but only one of us if we painstakingly decide to play with others, were we can be bland NPC's or Bland "Mercernaries". Its not a bad game, but its not D&D.
Also please dont comment how bringing a higher leveled character in messes up the combat, its not hard to begin with and who cares? I want to use my characters in my games as I see fit. Anyone can block anyone else from playing them. So where is the big deal? This has been done in all the D&D games before this one. NWN 1&2, BG 1&2, IWD 1&2, the Dragon Age Series, Mass Effect, etc etc etc. Just stop giving me a headache about your ignorance.
Are you saying you want your character imported from bg2 to bg3?if so, you can't be serious The character you played in bg2 is dead(lorewise) his name was abdel adrian. The events of bg2 to bg3 is around 100 years after.
Bg2- was second edition, bg3 is 5th. Not too mention, they are made on entirely different engines and by different companies. There is No mod thats going import anything.
