All the origin characters are player attracted, not straight/gay. You impressed astarion and you were hitting on him while talking about the stars.
Actually Astarion want to bang you anyway. I had him in party for like 10-15 min only (no star scene, low approval), yet he was only one who had yellow mark at the party. And this is annoying for people who don't want gay sex. Yellow mark should appear at companion with highest approval rating and flirt triggers done.
