Use astarion and dont bother wasting invis pots etc as they are good for fights or keeping blessing on as you want to keep shadow invisible to do so, just fast travel the rogue to the nearest point and pleed innocence then you are left alone.
Just pointing out that there are invisibility spells in the game as well and they definitely help to solve the getting caught issue.
