I know RNG is a thing, but honestly it seems like when the percentages listed are less than 50% they hit WAY more often than when they are more than 50%.

Also having trouble understanding attack percentages in general. I'm no wizard in 5e but have been playing D&D games forever.

If I'm on even ground, at level 4 and fighting something also level 4 with close to equal hit points, with good light, how is the attack success percentage 50% on a proficient regular 1H longsword, as a fighter, with no feats to alter the attack success?

I absolutely understand the die rolls that make or break hitting and then subsequent damage, but these seem ... off.

I know it's early access but if it's just me, please feel free to let me know laugh
