Before the auto-jump implementation, it was necessary to manually make party members - including the ranger animal companions - jump to some spot with available space.

Now, with the auto-jump, the animal companion choose by itself where to jump. The problem is when another party member is underneath, it receives over 25 HP damage. This can instantly kill one of your party member and is very annoying.

I experienced it many times with the spider, didn't try with other animal companions.

It's not just the animal companions, I've been hit in the head by other members of my party (handful of damage).

So I guess it's some kind of game mechanics (jumping or falling on something applies damage to it) automatically applied here without consideration.

This makes familiars extremely painful right now. I was playing around with a warlock and the various familiars. Having a frog jump down and somehow hit two of the part (one for like 12 damage) is a bit nuts. It'd be like being hit with a bean bag, not a bean bag full of lead.

And it's extremely weird that the crow doesn't actually fly. It also jumps (and lands on peoples heads).
