This problem has been fixed a while ago. Well, maybe you're referring to another problem, but you're not giving any information so it's hard to know.

I go to launch the game from DX11, I get a black screen, and then it crashes back to the launcher. So, I guess it is not fixed. A couple other people posted as well, saying they have the same problem still. I have tried all the suggestions, making sure I don't have any virus protection on, updated my files, pressing shift-and number keys or whatever, launching directly from the .exe, etc... nothing works.

But it works with the shift-click / as admin (eventually, after 5-10 attempts), right?
If not, it may be a completely different problem, and giving just a few symptoms won't allow anyone to help. Several people had this because they removed the swap disk, for example.

I suppose it's better to ask directly to the support at this point, with system specs, dxdiag and BG3 log files.
Though being in EA (*) means they probably won't answer (they never did in the forums). When I tried to contact them, with the problem above, I only got the generic answer after several attempts.

(*) arguably, looking at the website and how BG3 is advertised, the fact it's in EA isn't really standing out wink

No, nothing like that works, but it is the same problem everyone else is reporting. I run the .exe from the main folder, as administrator, it starts up, I get a black screen, then it closes, and I end up back at the startup page.

I'm sorry but this game is slowly slipping away. What we need is more content and very soon. I'm all for early access but all we have here is early access to what is little more than a demo. I'm glad some people are prepared to play the same little bit hundreds of times hoping to notice something different somewhere. This game is starting to get the smell of rotting fish all around it. Perhaps Larian could start offering a cash reward for anyone who can spot a difference.

Not *everyone else* in that thread, most of them could run the game with the tricky admin work-around, I think it was a problem on the Professional version of Win7/Win10.
If that's not a limitation of the memory (probably the most frequent after the drivers) then it must be more specific, did you get a reply from their support after sending the logs? They're usually very good on released games, but with the Early Access it may require some waiting and, without any response, perhaps some insisting.

Maybe you're being a bit over-dramatic? They were pretty clear about the rules of engagement wink

Well, i guess everyone who has done a lot of playthroughs by now feels that. Normal.
But if you go for the average working person who does not play hours of BG3 a day there is still room. I have played 170 hours and still found some stuff i haven't seen.

But i really feel you. For me a new class or 2 would be totally enough to do another few runs but after that the game will lay dormant till new content comes out.
