Yeah, I found this part with Raphael completely boring in the end. Cause no matter whether you are willing to accept or not, it doesn't change anything.
They put the sequence in a trailer. So it might have been a hint this encounter was just a promotional sequence for the game, with nothing relevant at all for you.
