This patch has far and away been my worst experience with BG3 so far. I wanted to play through to the end of the Early Access content (I didn't get very far before the new patch changed the saves), but at this rate, I think I'll have to wait for patch 6. I hope that the game has been logging all of these issues, and I hope Larian can access those logs to see what is going on. Right now, the game is not fun.

Some problems I have had with my patch 5 playthrough:

I have crashed 3 times. The first 2 I was able to submit info to Larian, but the 3rd, the game would not go away/minimize and I could not get to the "report an issue" window, I could not get it out from under the game. I had to use task manager to quit, and that killed the report window as well.

There have been 8-9 times when I could not move in combat. The "movement line" was available, but no amount of clicking would convince the character to actually move. Scrolling in or out did not help, nor did changing the camera angle. The most recent was with Shadowheart in the goblin ambush in the abandoned village. She would not move out of the street. In frustration I had her cast Healing Word spell on herself as a bonus action, then she was able to move. There did not appear to be any conditions affecting her that would account for her refusal.

In the same fight (goblin ambush in abandoned/ruined village), Laezel was frightened, but I was unable to give her commands. I understand that she has to move away, that's fine, but she should be able to use a second wind, or shoot her bow (albeit at disadvantage), but my only option was to skip her turn.

In the same fight, my main PC also could not move, so after seeing that a bonus action spell would "unstick" Shadowheart, I had my arcane trickster cast dancing lights (which I used from an item, rather than knowing the cantrip). I was on the roof with 2 goblins, and I cast the spell on the roof (just to make my PC move). The spell appeared INSIDE the house, rather than on the roof.

In the same fight, Gale wanted to cast a spell on the goblin shaman. Gale was on the street, the shaman was on the roof. Line of sight was blocked for Fire Bolt, so I tried Sleep. The area-of-effect and "affected HP" indicator made it look like I could make the Shaman sleep, but no matter how many times I clicked, at any zoom or angle, I could not get the spell off. Maybe it was a line-of-sight issue, but there was no on-screen indicator of it.

The pathing has been just the worst. My team ended up on a rooftop, where I took a short rest. I tried to move my team to the courtyard to start looting bodies, and suddenly I was in the Happening. I clicked for the party to go to the street, and my selected character swan dived to the cobblestones. So I tried to manually move the rest down the side of the building, where the crates are stacked up to the side of the building near the wall (to the right of the entry into the village). Shadowheart climbed down like a normal person, but Laezel chose a 20' face plant. Gale just stood there at the edge, no matter where I sent the others. When I manually selected Gale and clicked on the ground, he too threw himself off the roof.

During the fight, Laezel was on a roof, and I wanted her to stab the goblin inside the building she was on. When I hovered the goblin, the shadow image showed Laezel attacking, but it was a trick! When I clicked, Laezel threw herself off the roof and went prone at the goblin's feet. I get that in combat, pathing has to be a little more direct, but a little bit of warning would have been nice.

During this fight, 2 of Shadowheart's spider followers were stuck on the background somewhere near the Owlbear Nest. Earlier, while exploring the Druid's Grove, my arcane trickster's cat familiar got stuck at an angle overlooking the narrow/back entrance to the thieves guild. Gale got stuck on a roof, and Shadowheart got stuck while descending from the watch tower.

In almost every fight, the "movement line" disappears with "can't reach target!" message, but if I move in small amounts, I can usually get to where I want to go. The worst was in the Owlbear Nest. I had just smashed the spider egg so Shadowheart had a few spider followers. None of the spiders could move more than 5-10' at a time.

I left the goblin prisoner in the druid's grove, then discovered the "secret tunnel". After using that to sneak into the warehouse, Laezel got into a conversation with the half-paralyzed/strong tiefling guard, I switched characters, and Laezel suddenly was not in my party anymore. Her sprite was still on-screen, but her portrait was gone, and F1/2/3/4 could not re-select her.

I have also had FAR more issues with scrolling (zooming) and panning. The worst scrolling offender was fighting the skeletal scribes in the tomb. EVERY ranged attack or spell caused the map to zoom out to max, which left me looking at the map roof, rather than at the action. While panning the camera continually gets "stuck" on the background, and "falls" into chasms. The worst 2 times were the Harpy Fight area in the Druids Grove, and the watchtower overlooking the crashed ship (near a pouch in a crevasse being guarded by spiders).

Thanks Larian, I hope you can get these issues resolved! I like the game for the most part, I love D&D and the Divinity games, I think you're doing a good job, but right now, this is just NOT a fun game.

EDIT: One more thing: after the goblin fight, somehow I ended up in turn-based mode, and I could NOT leave that mode. The only enemy around was the sleeping bugbear. No amount of clicking or alt-spacing would undo turn-based. I saved the game, quit, and came straight here.
