Like in D:OS2 and BG2 we start as prisoners.
It makes no sense to have any starting equipment.
Illithids use psycho powers when they fight, they have no need for an armory.
Only their slaves would have weapons, maybe.
Our chars should start with nothing but normal cloth and we find the first weapon and armors on the corpses in the area from the battle between devils and illithids.
