Now I've entered the Owlbear cave and found two "Heavy Stones" "Despite fitting easily in your hand, this rough stone has a good weight to it. " What I want to know is if there is any reason for keeping these stones or not? Or does anyone have any ideas on what they might be used for? As I've never found them anywhere else and one of them was carried on an Eviscerated goblin.

They're for you to throw at the stalactites hanging from the ceiling and overpasses, to cause free damage to the owlbear if you fight it. Knocking a stalactite down on the owlbear does substantially more damage that you're likely to do with any other action at that level.

Will have to admit that I was thinking of that there but was worried that I would kill the baby.
