Firstly, stats. I don’t know what level we will be when we encounter Cazador, but perhaps stats could remain as they are without vampirism, or scale with your level, or perhaps have the option to add one point to one of your abilities, or to base AC?
Well, that would be a good reason to convert it all to 3.5e - as 3.5e has a template for that. Way more options available if they used 3.5e - though I'm not sure they are allowed to use 3.5e.
