Also breaking the game is fine. If you enjoy breaking games you should be allowed to do so. And this is a largely single player game anyway.

There is no good way to prevent save scumming that isn't detrimental to player experience in some way. There's also no good reason for players to save scum if they don't enjoy the game as much when they do it. If you feel reloading an old save whenever you fail makes the game to easy then just don't do that.

This isn't even a balance issue. The gameplay features are what exist in the actual played space. Faerun. Your characters. Etc. The save system is a quality of life mechanic designed to allow players to continue a game from where they left off or to allow them to prevent a loss of all their progress on a party wipe. It is therefore not a gameplay mechanic and should not be factored in to the game's balance or discussions of it. Players who make the conscious choice to abuse this non-gameplay mechanic to gain easier victories are doing so knowing full well it isn't how the game was meant to be played and the only people responsible for that behavior are themselves.

Complaining about save scumming would be like getting mad at Hasbro because your friend burned all your Monopoly money so you couldn't pay when you landed on his Park Place. It isn't a part of the actual gameplay even if the money is technically flammable as designed.

Agreed, you are not going to remedy 'save scumming.'

However, Larian can place a limitation on pickpocketing by 1) limiting how many items can be pickpocketed before the one being thieved realizes you been in his/her frakin' pockets or holding bag for like 5 minutes, lmao (since I know many of you are slow and picky about what you thieve).......2) have it where you can only pickpocket or thieve off someone (whether a trader, merchant, NPC, etc.) only ONCE.

I tested this trickster skill several times, it is well enough balanced to have dissuaded me from doing it several times as the risk was high for the story. Sometimes, to test, I try to steal objects with a rollmax7, I hesitate between 8 and 9 and from roll10 I avoid. after roll10, the item is not worth the risk of causing combat or even just losing reputation with the npc. In addition, once the trickery is successful, there is still a waste of time in the story when the npc investigates the group to find the thief.

In short, I find that this trickster skill is very well balanced, to deter exaggerated trickery.

In addition, the pickpocketing is very interesting when it allows a strategic alternative to the story, when the npc has on him a quest item, a compromising letter or a potion that would allow the possibility of creating a new path of decision to the gameplay.

Yeah, I mean, what next? Complaining the code is too easy to access and mod once people start modding themselves to be more powerful?

With seeing Solasta threads put in - I'm starting to wonder if this is just manufactured complaints from a competitor to try to get Larian to maim the game.
