Yes, but the solution to OP's problem is still very easy to achieve without the dev's involvment.
Relying on modders isn't an ideal solution, but, of course, this isn't an ideal world. Fortunately when it comes games like
BG3 you can be pretty darn sure the community will create all sorts of timely solutions which the devs can't provide. I think the first cheat table was out the day after release.
Larian's never going to provide a "press this button to skip combat" option, or even the equivalent of a CTRL+Y nuke, but you can get pretty close with other solutions, OP.
