Just use cheat engine, you can make it so that your turn never ends and you one-hit kill everyone, you will get through any combat encounter extremely fast without any effort, you can solve your problem very easily this way. Yep. This is what I do. Combat rarely lasts longer than a single round in my games, so I can get back to the stuff I'm actually interested in. I played Original Sin 2 exactly the same way.

Hmmm lets see..... i paid the SAME amount of Money like everyone else. So why is my request a ridiculous one? Asking kindly for an easy to implement feature thats purely optional. And belive me i would NOT be the only one to use it!
As i said the game is very good and enjoyable in other aspects. I gave my money cause i trusted on larian to make a "true in spirit" successor to BG series. I among MANY others are not realy happy with their vision of BG. And instead of crying "make the game like i want" (wich is in fact ridiculous) i am trying to ask for a simple and optional feature to make the game at least enjoyable.
And here come the DOS elitegamers who blame others who do no like their favorite playstyle. But the true irony is that such a feature would in NO WAY influence THEIR Gaming Experience! The request is ridiculous because I can’t think of a single game studio that provided a toggle to skip gameplay altogether, so Larian is almost certainly not going to give you one. The best you can hope for is a story-mode difficulty.

Yes, I’ve played Bethesda games and the original BG games and used the console for both, but that isn’t what the OP is asking for. Providing access to the command console is not the same thing as programming a pop up window that asks the player if they would like to skip gameplay.

...And? That has nothing to do with anything I said. It is related in the sense that having access to console commands would also be another solution, and in the sense that you don't need to ask anything of devs if a solution to your problem is readily available.

Yes, but the solution to OP's problem is still very easy to achieve without the dev's involvment. Relying on modders isn't an ideal solution, but, of course, this isn't an ideal world. Fortunately when it comes games like BG3 you can be pretty darn sure the community will create all sorts of timely solutions which the devs can't provide. I think the first cheat table was out the day after release. Larian's never going to provide a "press this button to skip combat" option, or even the equivalent of a CTRL+Y nuke, but you can get pretty close with other solutions, OP.

It's not an ideal solution but it's a good solution, I would personally ask the devs for something I can't do myself, if I just need to spend 15 minutes to fetch some files from the web that will solve my problem I don't see why I would bother asking the devs to do it. It literally takes more time to make a thread and discuss this topic than to actually solve the problem.

At the very least allow an option in the menu to speed up enemy turns during combat.

At the very least allow an option in the menu to speed up enemy turns during combat. I'm 90% certain enemy turns will be optimized to not waste time.

Maybe the OP didn't know about Cheat Engine, or the mods available on Nexus, or doesn't find them sufficient, or isn't comfortable with modding (I know a few folks who aren't, though it's almost beyond my comprehension, I've been messing with game files for so long now). Or maybe they just wanted to vent.

Or maybe they just wanted to vent. Is my guess, which is ok, but I don't think it in needs to be masked as an unrealistic request, because, lets face it, it is unrealistic. On the off-chance that OP really does enjoy the rest of the game except for the combat I provided an easy solutuon. Even if a person is not into cheat engine, it's quite a straight forward thing to get into with easy to understand guides online. This is the same thing I would say to someone who would say the same about Witcher 3 for example: Love the game, hate the combat, any chance CDPR can make a button to skip all combat? No, no chance. Just download a cheat that will make you OHKO all the enemies and enjoy the story, every combat encounter will take a few seconds to finish.

Then why are you directing this at me and not the OP? Because you said that console commands ( and I guessed cheat engine by extension ) are not the same as asking the devs to make a skip combat button, which to me indicates that you think OP's request is reasonable. If I am wrong sry lol.

I’m sorry, but this is the kind of nonsense that makes me hate speaking to people online. I said “ The request is ridiculous,” and the first response in this thread is me saying that the OP’s request is never going to happen.

Yes, but I don't always remember which post was done by whom, I answered to your post in a vacuum. My bad, no need to hate.

They sold us a D&D game so combats HAVE to be D&D combats. Currently its about as D&D as Dark Alliance was. Same names, different rules. Currently, the game is still ~a year away. Far too early to make absolute judgments. I would bet many things will be much different in the release version than they appear today.
I'm never wrong about anything, and so if you see an error in any of my posts you will know immediately that I did not write it...;)
