I just began the game, and after meeting with shadowheart, went in to explore the locked building. in the bedchamber, after a bit of sneaking, i got into a fight with some bandits, and one of them cast ensnare on shadowheart. Heres my problem, she successfully saved not only the initial save, but on each following roung, i watched the little save symbol to make sure, and yet she was ensnared for the full 10 rounds, taking 1d6 each turn until she was downed. why did the save not allow her to escape the spell, or at least not take dmg? do i misunderstand the spell?

If it's 'ensnaring strike' , they take damage per round while ensnared, but can stil attempt to free themselves each round and the spell is then over...so no idea what this is. 5E doesn't really do the old D&D thing of 1 save and your ^%$ed for the rest of the combat - you generally have a chance to save every round for a spell effect. Sounds like 'ensnaring strike'...and a bug.
