Honestly I've always disliked how Genasi is portrayed in that picture as well because it sets the level of diversion from ordinary humans too far in comparison to their description text. It's the kind of "diversion creep" which just makes every generalised depiction more and more different that's behind the whole drift of Tieflings from "people, but with weirdness" to "straight Hellboy knockoffs".
I don't mind players wanting their characters to be overt and colourful (literally, even
). I just want the default to be more down to earth to encourage the "there's countless of different ways this influence could manifest" mindset rather than it always being colour coded people.
