It's definitely noticed. Abandoning Lolth is an insult to the goddess and a death sentence. Any drow who dares to turn away from their faith is persecuted and then sacrificed. We'll definitely deal more with drow and their internal confilct later. However, it's worth noting, that drow aren't new to striking an alliance with Illithids because they fear/admire their psionic powers and hope to use them for their conquests. Maybe they gave up some of their low-class drow for experiments, but they never expected the Absolute to appear.
