Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems Not able to save

I was playing last night, and hit Ctrl+S to save but nothing happened <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I went into the main menu and the save option was greyed out and non usable????? I had to reload and save anew. Can anybody help? My game is all patched up and my CD is always in the tray. Any possible explanations are more than welcome. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/question.gif" alt="" />

Here did this happen? In the graveyard south of the quaratined area, after the zombie kidnapped the girl?

Then this is normal, you cant save till you have finished the quest. This is because to prevent a bug with the cutscenes.

It happened there, and I finished that quest and now its happening again, I am not actively involved in any quest, I am just roaming the countryside killing orcs and such. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

There used to be a bug with scenes not ending. And then the game prevents you from saving. When the scene ends you will be able to save again.

There used to be a bug with Zombie Jake after he kidnapped Elora.
But this bug got fixed with the latest patch.
Are you playing with this patch (1.34)?

Yea its all patched up, and the zombie quest with Elora is done. I am thinking the problem is with the scene where a dwarf is calling his brethren to help in the fight against the elves (sorry lots of spelling mistakes, i am at work <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/exclamation.gif" alt="" />) i kind of x'd out of that scene. Could that be the culprit?

Yea that could be it, why are you in the same situation or is it normal not to be able to save when you are fighting?

um, sometimes I've saved when there are monsters around. nothing happens, it lets me save.

yep <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> ... that could be it!, just wait till the scene plays out
then try another save.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />

oh and try to move away from that area....that could be the problem...
is that you are near the triggering area! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" /> i could be wrong tho!
