The default auto-run key is Q, maybe you just hit that by accident?
I don't know why everyone thinks Morrowind is very buggy...I've only experienced one bug (blocked me from finishing a quest). That's not as many as I've experienced with DD so far...
Ah well they're both very good RPGs, those two and Zelda: A Link to the Past are my all-time favorites.
