For instance, could Astarion be an entrapped and slightly demented version of Corellon, Shadowheart an avatar of Shar or Selune, Wyll ??? and Lae'zel Gith herself?
That would... track with the whole "I'm the avatar of a god" of the Baldur's Gate saga, wouldn't it? Only that this time, it's not **that** god.
