More crazy speculation time!

Would this mean that all the other Origin characters are gods too? For instance, could Astarion be an entrapped and slightly demented version of Corellon, Shadowheart an avatar of Shar or Selune, Wyll ??? and Lae'zel Gith herself?

That would... track with the whole "I'm the avatar of a god" of the Baldur's Gate saga, wouldn't it? Only that this time, it's not **that** god.

Well, Gale's hair looks kind of smushed on top, as if he had been wearing a hat that he then lost in the nautiloid crash.

Or maybe one of the Mindflayers took it because it was too tall for his pod.

I...really hope not.

I think, that would a bit too much. I'm not a fan of involving gods into everything, even in the D&D world, where gods are important. I know, that we will have God involvement again, but I wouldn't be cool with finding out that all companions are gods.

And Elminster a God? Did I miss something? I know, that he was (or is) Mystras chosen, but I didn't find anything about him being a God. Can someone explain?

Elminster? Seriously?
While he is often portraid as an ecentric and sometimes weird, yet omnipotent it would be very far catched that gale is Elminster. And beside Elmister while beeing a extremely important Charackter to Faeruns History he is definitly NO GOD.
On the other Hand with Larian i wouldnt bet any money on gale not beein Elminster. With WotC-Approval-at-will its easy to change any DnD-rules or History or Lore to match their game vision.
