This isn't a serious issue since I fixed it easily enough by just relaunching the game but I'm reporting it anyway in case relaunching doesn't work for someone else. Also of note when I quit (via the Escape menu and selecting Quit Game) and relaunched the game this bugged instance of the game was still running as a separate instance.
If nothing else it was interesting to see the full version of the character creation screen. I couldn't move or throw anything very far so I'm guessing the dummies are surrounded by invisible walls.
