Polar bears are certainly bigger and probably nastier than a brown bear... but it feels rather anochronistic seeing one in the temperate Sword Coast. I understand they exist in the setting (I still remember getting mauled by one on a bridge in BG1 on the way to rescue Dynaheir) however it's... a bit jarring to see? I suggest swapping the textures, so you become a brown bear, assuming playable druids don't get access to brown bears at all.

non-moon druids should have blackbears and moon druids should have brown bears.

Polar Bears should be for much higher level moon druids.

Same, total agreement

The current Polar Bear is actually a good size/look for a Brown bear. Black Bear should be slightly smaller. I like the idea to pair it off the circles.
Polar Bear slightly larger than this and only at a higher level, higher than 4 anyway. I also like the idea of starting out more mundane and getting more grizzly later on. And then eventually with like spirit style ancient extra grizzled grizzly bears as you improve in level. Other option would be to do it by area, where it feel more sensible to pull up a white bear in an area with like some snow on the ground at least.

Same sort of thing for the all the other animals, hopefully we get a few different wolf and lion types too, but you know the bear is always a classic and a highlight.

Well, there's always the Dire Bear too. IIRC you get a Dire Raven rather than giant raven at level 4.

I think wildform skins would be a good idea. For example I don't like the current spider skin, so having the option to choose between different skins ingame would be good.
