I just get a backpack, put the crap in there and then you can open it and instant transfer it all to the character you have selected. Never really ran into any performance issues myself though. I would say if your having "janky" animations, you might want to check your video card drivers because again they are pretty smooth for me. Glad your big rant made you feel better though
