Time certainly does exist, it is just that nothing really is dependent on it.

So, yes. Time somewhat exists (even outside combat, where rounds exist) and the game keeps track of it. But time is currently broken and non-sensical. Having the current day+time displayed somewhere won't make much sense until Larian gets round to fixing time.

You are correct. For all real intents and purposes time doesn't really exist/matter. It was even pointed out in that other thread on the subject that what I initially though were "timered" encounters aren't even based on the passage of time but rather simply de-spawning the encounter without completing it.
