For the record I've never played any Larian game before and have repeatedly stated I was against many of their homebrew rules as applied in BG3. I simply don't think healing puddles are that bad compared to much of what they have changed and make some logical sense due to my personal belief that the magic in a healing potion is absorbed instantly upon contact with the skin.

I'd also point out that if you want to just throw down a healing puddle at the start of combat that you leave it open to being stolen by an enemy who uses it before you do.

Once again I'd just rather see things like high ground advantage/disadvantage, bonus action disengage, backstab advantage, food healing and other things like that get applied properly than make a big deal over something I don't personally see as quite so straight up unbalancing.
