Yeah, whoever setup that animation knows the right way to pet a dog. Dogs learn to like being tapped on the head but they don't come into world liking it -- try patting a puppy on the top of its head and it will try and grab your fingers in its mouth. In fact that an important part of training a dog -- teaching it to respond well when some child imitates and cartoon and taps the dog on the skull a times. But dogs do come into world liking to be scratched on the throat, jowls and behind the ears.
