The cut scene never triggered for me.
I enter the cave and the bear attacks me on sight.
I never have the chance to use any skill.
Do you have to do something before entering the cave?
No, you just have to enter, get close to the mother and then the cutscene should trigger. It sounds like a bug to me (like the wrong goblin at the windmill in my games pre-patch 4)
