The cut scene never triggered for me.
I enter the cave and the bear attacks me on sight.
I never have the chance to use any skill.
Do you have to do something before entering the cave?
Do you enter from the main path or after climbing down and going past the statue of Selune?
If the latter, then you're approaching closer to the Owlbear cub which insta-aggros the mom.
