In Patch 3, when I walked up to the windmill in the Blighted Village with Wyll, a scene triggered between Wyll and the goblin boss.

I thought it was a great scene, and it's one of the things that made me interested in Wyll's character.

Now, it's not triggering. I walk up the same as before, but now it goes straight to combat with initiative being rolled. No dialogue.

What gives? I don't know if this is a bug or if the scene has been removed. I hope it hasn't been removed. It was a good scene.

I think it's a bug. Wyll still wants to have his talk with the guy after battle.

Spike is no longer the goblin boss at the windmill, they changed that. Probably because too many killed him accidentally without Wyll in the party and thus aren't able to advance his story.

Spike is now always in the Shattered Sanctum, torturing that adventurer and you get the scene there.

I'm not sure Spike was ever the goblin boss there. The boss' name is Fessek, or something close to that.

Fessek is the one who held Wyll down while Spike took his eye.

That scene had a strange bug in Patch 3. After Wyll questioned the goblin boss, he said (perhaps telepathically), "Kill him." If you actually followed through on that and killed him, Wyll would get upset, as if he didn't get to interrogate the goblin first, or as if he didn't just ask you to kill the goblin.

Before Patch 4, there was an opening dialogue to that scene, if you walked into it without attacking first. That's when Wyll makes a point about not killing Fessek, and all the Spike stuff comes out about his eye.

Unfortunately, that scene isn't playing anymore. At least, I can't get it to trigger.

The end scene is playing, though. Wyll gets his chance to interrogate Fessek. Sometimes. I had to fight that scene out three times before I got the ending to trigger. The first two times it didn't trigger. Fessek surrendered, but Wyll never jumped in with his "Let me question him!" dialogue. Instead, Fessek pleads for his life and offers information about how to sneak into the goblin camp.

For me, the intro scene didn't trigger, and even though I made sure to leave Fezzek for last I also didn't get any surrender-and-question scene. Well dutifully reminded me not to kill Fez but only knock him out though. After the final blow had already taken him out and I had concluded the combat.

Speak with dead saved the day, it has a Wyll led version as well

I'm pretty sure, I've met Spike there before - he is pretty distinguishable with his blue robe (imo the only goblin wearing these).

I met him there in every playthrough before patch 4. I never met that other guy , Fezzik or Fazzik or whatever his name is. Maybe it's a bug, but I saw a video once, where the commenter warned about killing Spike at the windmill without having Wyll in the party, so this must have happened a few times. I don't know, which video it was atm, if I find it again, I link it.

Got the intro to trigger once now. Dunno what made it happen this time.

edit: Oh, and after some careful saving and reloading and using the knocking out action I managed to get the surrender scene at last. Except at that time Wyll was too far away (by inches, must have been, he was just standing on the stone rise to the northeast), so I got the dialogue where he isn't involved. So after some further reloading I it trigger while he was close enough to join in at last. Afterwards, he correctly acted like Fez had been interrogated when you talked to him.

So I'm guessing these new bugs crawled out after they had tried to squash the old bug where he would act like you had killed Fez during the battle regardless of what happened.
