DEVIL SIGHT IS STILL BUSTED! yes when you cast darkness you are no longer blind, but if yoiu try to cast a spell in it it makes the character move OUT of the darkness. not good for warlocks with devil sight. it shouldnt alter their perception at all shouldnt shorten their line of sight but it does THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED

Agreed. I'm really not sure why they're struggling to get this working.

so once again my warlock's Invocation is useless. Granted, darkness no longer causes blindness. but it's still effectively useless aside from granting basically superior dark vision. while in my own darkness spell anytime I try to eldritch blast someone outside it, the character moves out of the darkness. any time I try to blast someone inside darkness it states the path is interrupted! hell my owen pact of the chain Imp can attack properly in the darkness. WHY cant my warlock? *Sighs* druids are at least fun.

It's technically not a bug since it fits the description. It looks like it's working as intended, but hopefully the change it

Description say that you can see normally in Darkness ...
That would mean you can normally cast out of Darkness ...
Yet your character runs out since inside Darkness spellcasting says "Path is interrupted" ... bcs Darkness works here like a obstacle, like you were in the bubble, where no projectile can get through its edge.

Wich i believe is exactly that bug im talking about. O_o
Ofcourse you cant target anything that is sinside the Darkness, but when we get to level 5 and we get Fireball (dont miss with Fire Bolt), and other AoE spells, we will be totally protected from them within the Darkness since no effect can pass its edge.

I get your logic, and started a thread on the topic myself, because it's dumb to not allow ranged attacks in/out if you have Devil's Sight

But the description literally says Darkness doesn't allow ranged attacks which fwiw, is *not* in the PHB, which leads me to believe at least for now, it's intentional

But we both hope this changes

It's not a problem with Devil sight, but with Darkness itself.
Larian implemented darkness and obscurement in a way that disallows ranged attacks in or out. Wich is wrong.
They do this to imitate your lack of sight to the target. But it shouldnt disallow targeting. It should impose disadvantage.
From the same mindset they made invisibility as automatic hiding. Wich it's not.

That makes sense, if they just programmed the ability to target and then a check for devil's sight for disadvantage that'd probably solve it. And it'd make sense for the guy who can see to point it out to others.
