Regarding UI, we need:
- A proper spell menu, no way around it.
High level characters will have tons of spells. With the current system there will be several full pages of the hot bar and it will be hard to find anything. You have to re arrange the hotbar every level up because you gain new abilities. And then you cast "heat metal" from page 1 of your hot bar and the next round you have to scroll some pages down to find the "cast the spell again" button.
Hot bars are nice to use the abilities and items you use most frequently.
They cannot replace a menu where you can see and use all of your abilities in a well sorted way.
NWN2 spell menu was the best I have seen so far, Kingmaker and PoE2 are Ok too.
- Better inventory management.
Moving items around between characters and the camp chest is annoying when you have to do it all the time.
Apart from normal items, over time your inventory gets flooded with keys and quest items and its hard to tell which of this stuff you still need or if it can be thrown away/sold.
Specialized containers (key rings, scroll cases, gem bags and so on) could be a good start, but I am sure more can be done.

At the moment the UI is usable, but often annoying.
This, plus the camera, are the biggest problems now.
The game itself (characters, locations, quests, graphics) is great. I am not a fan of some game mechanics, but this is an issue between DnD fans (me) and DOS fans.
But it should definitively be less annoying to use all the cool stuff you have.
