I made a video (for those who are interested in such things) of fighting the owlbear with two githyanki fighters and a thief and wizard. Note I'm not a hardcore player so I properly make some mistake(s) in the battle.

Easy win up

Tips :

- jumping before moving allow you to go further. I know, it's stupid... But it works. If you notice that you'll be something like 1 meter or two short, try jumping first.

- attacking ennemies in their back increase a LOT your %to hit. If you're already engaged you can jump/disengage not to suffer any AOO.
You'll nearly never miss anymore.

Thanks for the tips. ^_^
When I'm enaged I'm afraid to move my characters too much. Making a fatal move so they/it can hit you for free. It's hard to see visually. In POE2 it's so much easier to see engagement.

Yea it's a bit hard at the beginning but you always see when using jump/disengage will require your character to move (and suffer an AOO) first.

There's usually always a point you can jump on without triggering the AOO.

Another tip if you really want to become a beast in combat is that usually : you can also turn arround creatures without triggering AOO and without jumping.

It only works if you're engaged with a single creature but moving step by step will often allow you to backstab them and keep your bonus action for something else (like healing or dipping for additionnal damages). It's a bit more dangerous but after a few mistakes you'll understand how to do it properly.

These tactics are the best for melee combats whatever your class.

That lair still seems a bit glitchy. There's an "obscured by shadows" disadvantage even though it's quite bright.

LOL!
But I guess there's no facial expression that would fit better in that situation.

Tried all the tips you came up with. It really make the fights easier or hitting the foes easier. Thanks again!

You're welcome.

This was for your melee characters but don't forget to always go "higher" with your range/casters. They'll also usually have a huge bonus to their %to hit but ennemies will also have a huge malus.
