First of all, this is not about other games at all ... although I personally see no reason why a character from another game (or a book, or any other source) that belongs to the same universe and the same time could not show up here. .. after all, we live in the twentieth century, our technology and the complexity of stories go a little further than twenty years ago.
Can you imagine MCU created in 90' ?

The point is that every second post is about people wanting the return of the companion they liked in the previous game ... I know that 100 years isn't much for "some races", and I'm aware that this world offers an inexhaustible number of different ways to deceive time ...
I just think people should start to realize that this isn't a Baldur's Gate remaster, that's all. :-/

Then let's try to find some common ground. In games that provide multiple outcomes for your character and his/her companions, it is best not to canonize the fates of your companions too much, it would cheat others who did not make the same decision as you. Case in point, canonizing a romanced companion would not be fair to others who had their character romance a different companion. That is why it is best some companions never show up, because the player has some control over their fate.

It is technically 124 years between BG2 Throne of Bhaal and BG3, 1370 to 1494.
