Hopefully with the Dragonborn when added we will get them with the new dragonborn subraces from unearthed arcana just released it would be a good option seeing not that dragonborn have not been added to the game yet and the subrace features from unearthed arcana would fit in well with what larian has already been trying to do with the different subrace options it would make for a much more interesting addition of dragonborn when added. The additional features would be really nice to see included with the content as the revamped dragonborn would bring some more enticement to the race as well. Figured id pipe in and add that to the commentary since dragonborn were promised as part of the core phb content it would be even better if they came in with the new dragonborn subrace options would bring some real flavor to the race. Thought it would be a good toss in to the suggestions / feedback as the unearthed arcana version of dragonborn is extremely appealing as an option and adds some layers of flavor being one of the most interesting subrace releases for unearthed arcana in a long time the flavor ties are also really great with the path larian has been going with subraces as well.

Dont know if it is something other people would agree on but some bumps to the post for the added flavor it could add already tying in would be appreciated to show larian there are people that would like to see that at some point. Bump the post if you agree and would like to see that flavor added in.

I only know of the regular and Chromatic Sub-races of Dragonborn, tell me of these ones.

Dragonborn are separated into three sub species. Chromatic, Metallic, and Gem. They all get a 2d8 that scales really well with constitution and levels that can be used with multi attack as a replacement for one of the attacks. Uses scale with con modifier. They gain an additional ability. Chromatic gain immunity to their element for 10 min once a day, Metallic get a second breath weapon that either knock back or incapacitate for one turn(your choice), Gem get gem flight for one minute.

Gem Dragonborn are non elemental like radiant, necro, psychic, force, etc. So their resistance is kind of worse but the breath is way stronger.

A lot of feats, features, and spells too I think. They even have better kobold stuff. Due to the people that made them, its very very likely to be official content very soon.

Its just a better balance on the dragonborn race overall and brings more flavor to them makes them feel even more unique to species. The 3 subraces have there own unique traits also gives players a little more flavor the desin itself almost feels like it was ment for balders gate 3 even though its design from what is gathered is for dragonlance campaign setting the subraces themselves feel like they were built for bg3. The racials are great the moving of ability scores minimizes complaints due to flexability. The racial skills are all great unique abilities. The feats are well done.

Chromatics with complete immunity to a damage type for a short time, metallics getting the second status effect breath, and then gems getting telepathy / limited duration flight as a unique racial. 1 Minute flight could be super useful for transitioning terrain in game. The immunity to a damage type is a great flavor because all the resistance in the world doesnt beat immunity and the duration is really strong for certain areas such as the burning bar in chapter 1. Having a second breath with a aoe knock back great for tactical perspective and its solid having a stun as well to temporarily disable creatures like the bullet making it easier to take it down in short duration its up. Reducing incoming damage for short periods in general is great as an ability at low levels. Any damage type immunity is going to be strong fire even more so. Fire then acid and lastly poison being the most common damage types in early access part of the game thus far. Where other abilitys like psychic resistance may be useful much later if facing mind flyers. Force Thunder Lightning and cold are currently on the lower end of the spectrum due to lack of enemies using those attacks. But also means less likely to have resistance issues.

It would be nice to see them tie your colors as a restriction into your breath weapon type as well and stick to the true nature in case of dragonborn not allowing a red dragonborn for example to breath lightning as its basically the core of the race that there color ties into there breath type.
