I think importing characters would be a bad idea. There were too many problems with characters in Divine Divinity that need sorting out. With skills added and removed in the next games, imported characters aren't going to have the same feel about them. And this way you get the joy of creating a building a whole new character! If they release an expansion to one of the games I would agree with character importing.
